沙漠地带的贝多因人以拥有骆驼为荣。如果有人拥有多只骆驼，尤其是红色骆驼，的话它就可以富甲一方了。红色骆驼在那里就像劳斯莱斯一样珍贵。
在当地，骆驼也常被用于结婚时的嫁妆。男方家庭通常会在婚礼前送给女方家庭几只骆驼。
总的来说，在当地骆驼主要用于充当交通工具。但是在某些极端情况下，人门会吃骆驼肉以在沙漠中生存。
虽然人们不会轻易这样做，但是这是最后一个选择。现如今，我们一般不会把骆驼当成首要交通工具。人们一般培育骆驼以供肉食或比赛。在Deira的肉市，你会经常发现有骆驼肉出售。

在Dubai巧克力、面包和饼干均以骆驼奶为原料之一。Dubai Mall第一家使用骆驼奶生产食品的是Majlis café。
