官方消息表示，阿联酋首部食品安全法预计将于明年开始生效。
目前这一涵盖50项内容的食品安全法已经进入了最终审定阶段。
Ras Al Khaimah酋长国首席食品安全员Fawaz Abdullah说：“我们需要有具体可参照的标准。我希望这一法律能够在明天通过并实施。”
Mr Abdullah在一个由Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO)组织的研讨会上阐述了以上的观点。
一位阿布扎比食品控制委员会的发言人说，有关牲畜饲料的条款刚刚被增加进法律。这些条款目前正在接受环境以及水资源部的审议。
发言人表示：“审议通过后它将被送往司法部门进行终审。如果顺利的话，法律在明年就会实施生效。”
“这对于全国的食品安全都有着相当积极的意义。因为以后我们将在实践中有法可依。”
Mr Abdullah说，目前我们已经有了阿联酋食品召回机制以及食物检测可追溯规定。
“这对于全境的食物实验室是一个好消息。因为一旦某个酋长国开始召回，其他酋长国也会及时收到通知。”
这一研讨会探讨了目前食品安全监管上的种种缺陷。FAO专家们对已给出了自己的见解。
FAO驻阿联酋联络员Abdu Gasem Al Assiri说：“目前的挑战在于我们有七个酋长国，而且发展相对不均衡。“
“有些酋长国缺乏人力、设备以及相关法律。我们需要协助那些不具备条件的酋长国改变现状。”
自去年4月以来，有关食品安全的技术以及法律框架一直在接受审议。
FAO食品安全顾问Cristiano Longo博士说：“我们建议加强各部门和企业间的协调。”
“目前有关政策上的协调工作非常重要。”
目前较小的酋长国劣势比较明显。
消费者保护协会视频安全调查员Andrew Gauldie说：“各国的人口数据几部均衡，所以各国可用的资源也大不相同。这也就意味着硬性的人员指标非常不现实。”
“小国则缺少资源，但大国却资源丰富。”
Gauldie说每个酋长国目前都有自己的规则。
他说：“从一些方面来看，食品安全表现的确有提高。”
“目前来看，七个酋长国统一检查标准不大现实。”
同时，现在的目标应该是想着一个和谐的，彼此合作的法律框架努力。
FAO食品安全官Carmen Bullon说：“立法的协作非常重要。各自为战将是理发的灾难。”
“阿联酋食品安全法如果妥善实施，将对我们的生活利大于弊。”
