由迪拜体育委员会举办的首届迪拜沙漠铁人三项将呈现一次特别的运动项目组合，其中两项为常规铁人三项中的赛跑和自行车赛，此外新增加了耐力赛马。
该比赛将于早6点开始，首先是25公里的耐力赛马，之后是25公里的自行车赛，最后为沙漠5公里赛跑，终点设在Dubai International Endurance City。
任何有兴趣参赛的选手都可以报名，可以报单项，也可以三项都参加。可以个人名义或团体成员报名，但参加耐力赛马比赛的选手必须跟自己的马匹一起报名。成年男性女性选手以及青少年（16-18岁）选手如果想组队参赛但是自己人数不够时可以将自己的名字及参赛项目上报，组织方可以帮助他们中间能力相当的成员组成一队。
