在乌兹别克斯坦收紧旅行法规后，一些阿联酋的外籍居民正在关注其他西南亚和东南亚国家，甚至非洲的埃塞俄比亚，以通过这些国家“曲线救国”返回阿联酋。
在感染病例上升后，乌兹别克斯坦于6月25日对入境旅客实施了额外的检疫规范。
旅行社表示，自那以后，很少有外籍人士选择通过取道乌兹别克斯坦返回阿联酋。
相反，滞留在印度和其他南亚国家的外籍人士选择在亚美尼亚、塞尔维亚、黑山等国家隔离14天，在某些情况下甚至选择在非洲的埃塞俄比亚隔离，然后返回阿联酋。
阿联酋自4月24日和5月13日起分别暂停来自印度和巴基斯坦、孟加拉国、尼泊尔和斯里兰卡等南亚国家的旅客入境。

医学专家表示，人们应更加注意预防措施，包括戴口罩、定期洗手、保持社交距离和避开人群。“与其他变种相比，该变种的危害程度更高，而且导致的住院和死亡的风险也更高。”
医生建议，如果出现了相关症状，必须迅速进行PCR测试。
