印度高级官员已与海湾国家官员会面，就解除旅行禁令一事举行了高层会谈。
海湾地区拥有约850万印度居民，其中居住在阿联酋的人口最多，约为340万。
自4月以来，阿联酋一直限制来自印度的乘客入境，当时第三波疫情浪潮席卷印度各城市，每天新增多达300,000至400,000例新病例。
印度外交部代表Bagchi先生表示，“我们希望，随着印度疫情局势的大幅改善，各国可以放宽针对印度的旅行限制。”
Bagchi先生说，印度外交部长Subrahmanyam Jaishankar博士在最近于意大利举行的G20部长级会议期间，与沙特高级官员举行双边会议时也提出了这个问题。
