云播种是阿联酋增加降雨的重要途径，阿联酋于2017年在九个不同的人工造雨项目中投资了1500万美元。

在云播种时，常规方案是无人机将碘化银等化学物质喷入云层，以此来形成降雨，阿联酋目前正在尝试使用无人机将电荷射入云层来引起降雨。
