一位不愿透露姓名的内政部官员表示，“任何违反规定者，回国后将受到法律追究和重罚，三年内禁止旅行。”

沙特阿拉伯已禁止民众前往阿富汗、阿根廷、巴西、埃及、埃塞俄比亚、印度、印度尼西亚、黎巴嫩、巴基斯坦、南非、土耳其、越南和阿联酋等多个国家旅行或过境上述国家。

沙特是最大的海湾国家，拥有约3000万人口。周二该国记录了1379例新的感染病例，使其总数达到520774例，死亡总数为8189例。
